Social Setting Detoxification

A common feeling that patients entering our detox program is guilt and shame and regret.  Staff and alumni volunteers within the detox center immediately begin to provide support and assistance in those critical early hours of withdrawal.  Some patients need sleep and light food and someone to talk to at 3 a.m. in the morning when they feel anxious.  Others may have upsetting symptoms that need to be monitored.  Physical symptoms may indicate a need for more medical oversight and this is arranged. Clients may receive admission to detox 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Space needs are addressed by offering private and semi-private rooms. Available for women and men.

Residential

The program offers 50 hours of weekly activities which include group counseling, education, therapeutic recreation, and individual sessions with a professional counselor. Residents choose between a private room and shared suites of four-to-a-room in a positive climate that gives each individual an opportunity to adjust to a way of living that is focused on strengthening recovery to increase self-sufficiency. Available for men only.

Both private and semi-private gender-specific rooms are available.  Residential length of stay varies greatly.  Individuals may agree to a week-long episode of residential treatment following a sudden relapse.  Other patients new to recovery may choose three to four weeks of intensive attention while they adjust to a chemical-free lifestyle.  Our agency has a history of providing men-only residential treatment, and our new facility was designed to continue this tradition.  Other local resources for women exist.  However in an interim period, residential support for women at Phoenix Programs may be obtained within the respite setting.

Respite

Respite support is offered in private and semi-private rooms. Guests usually stay three to seven days in the respite setting. Respite space is provided for family members when space is available.
