Mission
The mission of Phoenix Programs is to reduce
the adverse effects of alcoholism and other drug addiction
in our families and our community by providing treatment,
support and educational services.
Purpose
Our purpose is to restore dignity and
respect to persons who have experienced significant losses
as a result of an addiction in order to return a productive

Vision
Phoenix Programs has a successful 30 year history
of meeting our community's needs for education and treatment
for individuals with alcohol, drug and gambling addictions
and their families.
As Columbia has grown, so has the demand for
our services. We have expanded into three separate facilities
in Columbia as needs have increased, and we are outgrowing
these facilities. The limitations we face because of increased
needs and decentralized services are separated staff, separated
clients, compromised efficiency, and limitations on the number
of individuals we can treat. These limitations make providing
a continuum of care and the quantity of services needed in
Columbia difficult to achieve.
Our vision requires a facility that will centralize
all staff in one location to provide the continuum of services
our community needs to treat addictions. To meet the challenges
of a growing population and the community's expanding need
for our services, we need more space than we currently have.
We see Phoenix Programs continuing to
grow as a dynamic resource. Our first step in addressing these
changing and ongoing needs is bringing together all of our
services and expert staff under one roof through our ongoing
Capital Campaign.

History
Phoenix Programs, incorporated in 1974, is a
not-for-profit organization that offers a continuum of care
for individuals with addiction. Phoenix Programs began in
1974 as a residential site, Phoenix House, where any man,
regardless of his ability to pay, could get help for his alcoholism.
In 1992, Phoenix Programs expanded its offerings
to include outpatient drug and alcohol counseling to meet
growing needs. Over the years, other new programs have been
added including social setting detoxification, court assistance
programs, drug court services, family counseling, gambling
counseling, adolescent groups, and youth groups to offer a
full array of treatment options for individuals with addictions.
